Would this arrangement of muscle, attaching two thirds down the length of the bone and originating as that hamstring muscle, allow for the movement desired?
Since apparently there's a tendon along the back quarter end of the bone.

I also wonder about just extending the attachment point for that tendon out which would pull the tendon further down the bone and open up more of the back of the bone for other muscles to attach.

Opinion: Approved,

though the two minor spelling errors I noted ought to be fixed, but I've done hella worse myself.

Oh!

Okay, so a mesoglea lump in this is very interesting, and I wonder just how malleable one could be for this.

The shape of it ought to be described.

I've perceived the outgrowths as rigid and rather non membraneous or non living material.

Looking at a few it's possible that the central vein may have been membraneous or alive at least at one point, but the remainder could still be extracellular material or grown like bacterial flagella.

Or, even the entire thing could be membraneous initially and then solidifed as dead appendages to the singlular cell.

QUOTE (Oofle @ Nov 10 2022, 08:20 AM)
Maybe it’s just me, but personally the shade of blue used here makes it really hard to distinguish the line art, especially the limbs (it kind of makes it look like it has limbs with two claws and the other limbs are obscured rather than four with one claw), maybe you could use a color other than black for the lineart? Or make the limbs otherwise more defined?

Maybe just recoloring the outline at points like that to a grey?

It's commonly practiced in cartoons to invert outline color on dark objects.

Unless changing the entire outline color makes more sense.

If they're built for stripping you can have them strip branches like a planer tool.

That'll give lots of surface area.

The beaches are listed as having the same trees, so the canopy is rather continuous.

Just add the beaches, make mention of swimming capability in areas where it is required, and it'll be good.

How do they handle winter in the temperate regions and what predators are using eyesight that they are using their dark coloration to hide from?

I mean on the scale of years if we're just talking fermentation.
Consider how long it takes a small log to decompose in the forest with fungi actively eating it.

I suggest adding some form of mechanical breakdown if you're going to have it eat entire lignified woody branches.

Opinion: Approved,

gorgeous internal supplemental image.

I suggest mentioning that the wings are now shaped for active soaring rather than passive soaring like its ancestor. Since you are seeming to aim for that body shape and lifestyle.

" Because of its oil rich diet, its feathers can get wet. It is not shy of diving into the water to grab onto a juicy looking Gillfin or other prey."

It's feathers get wet because of its oily diet?

Make sense, tidal lungs are active and they're basically air tanks.

I actually think it should be approved since I haven't seen any elaboration beyond "gills in tank" for any of them, but I put pending for the same thing on another submission so. There ya go.

But also, Doctor Pickle has yet to be approved so, technically this can't yet.

Their long ribbon-like fins have been changed into a selection of movement sensitive quills toward the rear of the body, to detect motion through the water, as well as four short and highly mobile fins to allow the organism to more easily maneuver in its open water home. The quills toward the back of the body have the second purpose of deterring predation, their tips are dark and hardened.
