I'm going back and forth on if I want to change the appearance of the tail and toes

I meant more that it can be mainly herbivorous but is an opportunistic ovivore as a protein supplement, like how cows or horse will occasionally eat small creatures or eggs and such as a calcium source

Since it is fitting, the contest to decide the extra slot for Week 24 will be the current species challenge! As a reminder, the theme is:

RETURN/RESURRECTION: Species submitted under this challenge must exemplify the concept of returning and/or renewal. While I won’t allow literal undead species, I’ll leave it to your discretion as to how best to fulfill the topic. Some possible examples of what could work:
• A migratory species returning to a specific spot to mate
• A species regressing to a more primitive/ancestral trait
• A species that hibernates/goes dormant for a long period of time

These are just basic examples, so don’t worry about sticking to these only. Get creative! All submissions must be in by January 31 @ 23:59 EST, and every entry must indicate it in either the body of the topic or in the subheader. I will put up a poll in the forum for us to vote on. The winner gets a badge, the option to pick the next contest, and the gen 150 slot

Due to the impending split with Mason, it was decided that the Mason species will be removed from the main generation pages. As such, for Week 24, this will open one slot in Gen 150, and 12 slots in Gen 154. Each member will be allowed, under HEAVY scrutiny, to evolve 1 slot in Gen 154. A contest to be announced will decide who gets the slot in generation 150. These species will not be allowed to contradict current species, but minor edits may be allowed in select situations. The first week open will be Week 24, and each submission, barring intentional action by the creator, will be allowed to survive to today. Once Week 24 is over, and you still have a species lineage you want to save, you can try your luck in Week 23. The majority of these submissions will be rendered extinct, and will be decided using a strict criteria that will not be made public, and will be mostly a dice roll. All submissions for Week 22 will not be allowed to survive the Solar Flare

I modified the rule, since the rule was meant for more physical differences, not just color changes

A recent Survey of the Bumpy Polar Beach as revealed previously thought extinct species from the Artir Polar Beach. They have apparently merged ecosystems, to the point where the old Artir and Bumpy beaches can no longer be distinguished from each other. As such, the Ecosystem will be renamed the Drake Polar Beach and the following species will be added to the Extant list:
Thornshell
Polar Cellulosebane
Grubnub
Hornsniffer
Polarblades
Lickworm
Polar Ukback
Snowsculptor Janit
Flugwurm
Genteel Tuskent
Twinecoat
Purple Dotter
As well as the following being added to the new environment:
Wind Shrubite
Flugwurm
Pewpa
Crested King Limbless
Shortface Sauceback

After an exploratory dive into the deep sea vents, explorers discovered that the lifeforms, while devastated by the Snowball event, were not wiped out as once though. Therefore, the following species have returned to the Extant list:
Vent Shrubite
Vent Urchip
Blind Foi
Necrotic Arrowhead
Ventrapper
Marfos
Xxeljet
Marocta
Rearing Swarmer
Vent Darkswarmer
Xxeltrapper
Swarmhunter
Martyr
Giant Pyavent
Sucker Foi

Someone who I'm curious about is Jlind11. I always liked their art.

Maybe how about instead of salt pouches, it excretes excess salt in their urine, and as a defence mechanism they basically just relieves themselves.

...Do Nectarworms urinate?

Meh, that sounds credible.

So, does this violate the Island Migration rule?

QUOTE
Island Migration

Players cannot spread species to islands except for direct sea or air. However at the beginning of each week species will be "cross pollinated" at random either to or from island beaches. In addition
"Super Hurricane" disasters will spread species when they occur.

Is this rule even still in effect?

Yeah a replacement could work, or maybe adding ovivory of the eggs of Dogelaro and relatives? Or maybe an opportunistic scavanger?

Could this be salvaged if it has some non aquatic cave environments added?

No species will ever be rejected without a statement from me at minimum. I've been a bit busy with covid so I haven't been moving species, but so far no one has submitted anything that was rule breaking to the point of rejection. It would have to be completely irredeemable in some way, like a gross misunderstanding of ancestral anatomy or a submission based off of an already extinct ancestor.

Okay relax, I was already in the process of fixing them. My statement was to let you know it happened. It was just a matter of copy-pasting the subjects into new threads. This rule has been in place since the beginning of the project, and none of your species have been rejected, just asking for tweaks to keep consistency. I was fixing them out of courtesy of these being your first species since returning, but in the future I ask that these problems be corrected on your own, and to please re-familiarize yourself with the rules in the Project Rules thread.

Does this replace the Noplanktoids?

This species was also submitted before creatures in it's diet. The compendium is in chronological order, so prey has to come first.

Oh hey welcome back. No need to post here, you’re membership was grandfathered in

Reproduction is missing.

Oh. Doy.

Do these have a chance at also forming a relationship with cavedron? They just came back and are also in a symbiotic relationship with local rustmolds.

Is the sweat just water, or is it some sort of repellent too?

Cool, no problems that I see
