https://sagan4alpha.miraheze.org/wiki/Rockshorian

"The shell-like extension of the sauce has taken a rock like shape externally, growing layer by layer with tiny gaps in between from the inside out, letting erosion and cracks form on the surface and result in a rocky surface. "

It's not defensive beyond camouflage it sounds.

Complex flaky appearances are entirely doable. Just have a mix of living and nonliving layers.

Isn't the sauce, part of the body protecting the brain? It should not be as fragile.

There are a few issues that need to be addressed...

1. The chitinous backplate is too fragile if its layered like this imho.
It would break pretty easily.

If you go for a heavier shell this would also result in a change to the legs.

It would have to look a bit stockier and closer to the ground.

Elaborated more on its reproduction

Edited to make the split more obvious:

"The Moleroot split from its ancestor when a population of Quillfences, grew unusually deep underground, better protecting them from predators."

I don't think "influenced by suggestions" is enough to make someone a co-creator. The concept behind the species is entirely yours.

I felt like doing it, asked them and they accepted.

QUOTE (Disgustedorite @ Nov 22 2022, 04:09 PM)
The support isn't formatted correctly.

Is there a cohesive list of Coolsteph's contributions that make her more of a co-creator than any other reviewer?

Most of the current description was influenced by Coolsteph's multitude of suggestions.
Nobody else really commented as much.

edited Support to Cell Walls (Cellulose)

Made suggested changes.

Added more detail for the Reproduction

Revision as per discussions I've had with colddigger

Is this still being worked on?

QUOTE (Disgustedorite @ Nov 17 2022, 03:00 PM)
The new art makes it look extremely organized, which might be too large a jump. Is that a cross section or an external view?

It’s External. Fairly organized but simple structure.

Through discussion with some other people, fixed the support (again)
& Produced better artwork for organism.

QUOTE (colddigger @ Nov 15 2022, 08:25 PM)
Oh!

Okay, so a mesoglea lump in this is very interesting, and I wonder just how malleable one could be for this.

The shape of it ought to be described.

The shape is roughly circular/amorphous
Focused around the core of the organism.

Edit: Felt like with mesoglea, I should reduce the size of the adult to be more reasonable (changed it from 1m to .5m )

Agreed.

I agree as well

Added Support
and figured out the Respiration process.

Temperate, subtropical, and montane? That's only 3.

Oh my bad, I was thinking Montane as more of a sub-type
Sorta like marine
