Wanted to transplant a topic I brought up on the Discord:
"I'm updating the Bloody-Nosed Cotingo for Fermi. The original plan was to submit this last week, but that didn't work out, so now it'll be in Gen 166. However, Fermi has now been broken up into the mainland and some islands. Is it possible for this species to replace its ancestor on Fermi and Oofle?"
"I was thinking that this transition could have been happening just before the island splitting into the two landforms. This species has existed, relatively unchanged, for more than 2 weeks, even thought it has populations in extremely removed locations. I might propose that some of these adaptations have been "quietly" accumulating until they developed into this new species."
Any thoughts we have on handling this situation are appreciated! I'm ok with just replacing it on the mainland, but then there's the issue of some Cotingo's left unchanged in that part of the world. There are only so many slots in each Gen, and if I'd prefer being efficient in my species submission (as opposed to making two or more extra species for the islands).
