The allfriend knightworm evolved from bouffant knightworms that moved into the tropical forests, continuing their social lifestlye and mycostrum cultivation. They have specialized into eusociality, much in parallel with the honorable crown knightworms, but in the allfriend knightworm's case, this has largely come in response to the arrival of the sagmalix.

Allfriend knightworms have split so that the reproductive castes remain in the nest where they can be protected. The queens' bodies have grown, and she is fed by workers, steadily producing eggs for workers to tend. Queens' antennae and legs have atrophied, however, with no need to manipulate their environment or travel. Males retain the usual body plan but have shrunk significantly; their only role is to fertilize eggs after the queen has laid them.

Workers are the most similar to their ancestral state. They are the only ones who keep the ancestral "bouffant" of mycostrum, as they still use it for transporting food, water, and fertilizer when they go foraging. Others still use the balloons when young to travel to or found a new nest, but they lose it afterwards.

Once workers get older, they may turn into soldiers, though not all workers will. Soldiers lose the "bouffant" and guard the nest against predation.

They have gained a tolerance for redcap mycostrum poison after so much time handling it to use as fertilizer for their symbiotes, and they can eat it in small doses.
