Phenagouti (Sagmaticavia phenamimus)
Creator: FaunaComplete
Ancestor: Okagouti
Habitat: Drake Lowboreal, Drake Temperate Woodland
Size: 65 cm long
Diet: Herbivore (Pioneeroots, Marbleflora, Snow puff, Snow Windbulb), Frugivore (Qupe Tree fruit, Xidhorchia fruit, Lurspire fruit), Graminivore (Forest Quone nuts), Photosynthesis
Respiration: Active (Lungs)
Thermoregulation: Endotherm
Support: Endoskeleton (Jointed Wood)
Reproduction: Sexual, Live Birth, Two Sexes

The Phenagouti splits from its ancestor, the Okagouti. This species evolved with longer legs and a longer body in order to achieve greater speed for migration. It developed a neck and its ears are smaller. Like its ancestor, it lost the shield that served to defend it from predators and for photosynthesis. It is less green in appearance compared to its ancestor.

It feeds on flora such as Pioneeroots, Snow puffs, Snow Windbulbs and Marbleflora; and fallen fruit. Like as its ancestors the Phenagouti only gets a part of its energy with photosynthesis; primarily getting its energy from the food that it consumes,. This species live in herds and search for food. As in its ancestor, the female gives birth to many offspring. Its light-sensing in the snout enables it to detect predators and search for food.

" It feeds for small flora as Pioneeroots "

Should be " feeds on small flora "

The word " for " is substituting a few words where it should not.

This is a pretty good entry

Good inclusion of the word graminivore in diet, I think you're the first I've seen using that word.

Sorry for not catching this before - Drake Boreal is no longer a valid habitat. I assume you were looking at Week 26's map; the current map is this:

I assume that you mean Drake Lowboreal? As that is connected to Drake Temperate Woodland.

Is Drake Lowboreal valid?

Does anyone else have a constructive comment before I give this a review?

Does it migrate between habitats, or within the same habitat? At what time of year does it migrate?

It’s a bit odd that it would be so large and yet have such a limited diet, particularly because its habitats do have options other than two genus group species and two kinds of local species. For relatively small and likely tender vegetation, there’s Windbulbs, Xidhorchias and Snow Puffs in Drake Lowboreal, for example.

There’s not really a point in pointing out it has lost some of its green coloration unless you elaborate on its advantages. After all, that it has lost some green coloration (compared to its ancestor) is obvious.

Incidentally, there are a few uncolored white spaces on the back plates, on one of the legs, and below the ear. This is hard to spot, though, so it’s not necessary to fix.

This is only a quick check. I’ll have to come back later.

No, though I think the concept is understood by readers I'll suggest edits anyway.

"like [ Like ] its ancestor, it is losing [ lost ] the shield that served to defend it from predators and for photosynthesis. "

" Its loses a part of the green coloration."

Maybe saying "It is less green in appearance compared to its ancestor" would make this more clear.

"It feeds on small flora [such] as Pioneeroots and Marbleflora;"

"Like as [remove this word] its ancestors the Phenagouti only gets a part of its energy with photosynthesis; primary [primarily] getting its energy from the food that it consumes"

" Its light-sensing [maybe the word "eyes" should go here] in the snout enables him [it] to detect predator [predators] and search for food."

It is interesting how in this lineage the seeing eyes are on the tip of the head, and the smelling eyes are way up high.

Opinion: Pending description edits, however, I consider it up to mods how clean it actually needs to be. It's a first submission and I am unaware how active the project member actually is.
