Can you give a little more detail on the development of the tympanic membrane?

That’s a bit of a drastic development in the leg department. Did they evolve knees?

I thought the ancestor had knees.

Are they knees, or are they thighs? It could be a situation like birds, in which what appears to be the knee is actually the ankle.
I did a cursory check, and it seems frogs do have kneecaps, if primitive cartilage-based ones. Of course, this isn't a frog, but that might be useful information anyway.
