Sagan 4 Forum [Menu]

There's quite a few old Sagan 4 team members who have since vanished off the internet. Some of them created the ancestors of a few major lineages. And, of course, there's quite a few old members who also just made really neat stuff, even if few are still extant or left extant descendants.

I think it would be nice to find out what some of the older members, now MIA for many years, have been up to these days, even invite some back to Sagan 4 since I imagine many have no idea it's still going.

One particular member of interest is Bonosaber. To most he seems more infamous than anything, but he is literally the creator of iron fauna and the ancestors of whorls, among other things. Mason fauna can also trace their ancestry to a species made by him. I can't help but wonder how he is today, and if he's aware of the legacy some of his species have left.

Hey dorite, if anyone finds these old members, can you lemme know as well? I'll be asking them about drawing their bois and such.

Some of the old members might be contactable via DeviantArt, or it might provide some leads.
At risk of appearing as if I'm stalking, Elerd favorited something on DeviantArt that was published on May 14, 2020, which means Elerd hasn't been gone for years on the platform.
Most likely, Somarinoa and Ittiz are still active on DeviantArt: I've sent the latter a message.
People going by "LadyM" and "Irinya" appear to like My Little Pony. At risk of stalking-like behavior, it might be worthwhile to check out My Little Pony forums and ask. Russ1 might be active on DeviantArt; I sent the person who might be Russ1 a message.

I do have the emails for both LadyM and AnguaNatalia, but I don't want to hassle them.

An unexpected update: Yesterday, I googled various members' names to see where they went after Sagan 4. There's two in particular whose statuses gave me quite a shock that I've only just now fully recovered from.

Solpimr apparently rejoined Beta under a different name, Kopout. Solpimr and Kopout are the same person. They really improved. That was more mild surprise than shock, though.

What's really shocking is the status of Vivus. I don't have absolute confirmation (they didn't post sagan 4 art and they have not replied to my tweet, but homestuck fanart and their later sagan 4 art that were made around the same time have similarities in how they were shaded and textured), but it appears that Vivus...worked on Homestuck as an artist and even animator, then later worked on officially licensed Avatar and Adventure Time comics. They are now a background painter on The Owl House. I could be wrong, but the chances seem slim of there being 2 vivuses on the internet at the same time who are both artists and have styles this similar. (though, judgement is difficult due to the different subject) (edit: apparently the homestuck fanart I looked at for comparison is official art. Much like Sagan 4, Homestuck is powered heavily by fan contributions, so the boundary between the two can be hazy)

Kopout and Solpimr do have similar styles, come to think of it. I'm not surprised Vivus got professional, given how beautiful Vivus's artwork is.
On DeviantArt, I sent Ittiz a link to Sagan 4 a few months ago. Ittiz seemed interested.

Someone who I'm curious about is Jlind11. I always liked their art.

Found:
- Badger Man 22: She is not a man. It's unclear what she actually goes by now, but she's on the Sagan 4 Alpha discord server.
- Krakow Sam: Turns out he was just. sitting there on the gamingsteve discord server unaware anyone was looking for him

Possible leads:
- Nuclearchinchilla: I've found a possible lead on reddit, however I can't find any sign of them after 2019.
- Bonosaber: I discovered a third username he went by. It hasn't panned out yet, though.

A belated update on the Russ1 lead: the person I guessed was Russ1 was not actually Russ1. Reverse-image search of Russ1's art might help find Russ1, if Russ1 posted the art anywhere else.

I was actually able to obtain the email address of Russ1 (as well as Clayren), but I haven't gotten any response.

Vivus update: I found archived forum posts from a lot more recently, which messes up the timeline a bit. I'm not as sure about the Vivus thing anymore.

Jlind11 successfully located. turns out I've been following him on Tumblr since 2019 and we literally had a discussion about Sagan 4 over Tumblr IM once

I've literally never lost contact with LadyM. Didn't know you were looking for her (since she only contributed one organism). She's also not really much into biology and stuff like most of us are.
