Due to the impending split with Mason, it was decided that the Mason species will be removed from the main generation pages. As such, for Week 24, this will open one slot in Gen 150, and 12 slots in Gen 154. Each member will be allowed, under HEAVY scrutiny, to evolve 1 slot in Gen 154. A contest to be announced will decide who gets the slot in generation 150. These species will not be allowed to contradict current species, but minor edits may be allowed in select situations. The first week open will be Week 24, and each submission, barring intentional action by the creator, will be allowed to survive to today. Once Week 24 is over, and you still have a species lineage you want to save, you can try your luck in Week 23. The majority of these submissions will be rendered extinct, and will be decided using a strict criteria that will not be made public, and will be mostly a dice roll. All submissions for Week 22 will not be allowed to survive the Solar Flare

Since it is fitting, the contest to decide the extra slot for Week 24 will be the current species challenge! As a reminder, the theme is:

RETURN/RESURRECTION: Species submitted under this challenge must exemplify the concept of returning and/or renewal. While I won’t allow literal undead species, I’ll leave it to your discretion as to how best to fulfill the topic. Some possible examples of what could work:
• A migratory species returning to a specific spot to mate
• A species regressing to a more primitive/ancestral trait
• A species that hibernates/goes dormant for a long period of time

These are just basic examples, so don’t worry about sticking to these only. Get creative! All submissions must be in by January 31 @ 23:59 EST, and every entry must indicate it in either the body of the topic or in the subheader. I will put up a poll in the forum for us to vote on. The winner gets a badge, the option to pick the next contest, and the gen 150 slot

There were zero reminders about this contest at all. The only entrants are Nergali, who started literally when it was announced and long before the prize existed, and you. Everyone else forgot the contest existed, and I wouldn't be surprised if Nergali forgot he entered. You didn't even use an @everyone or @here on the vote announcement on the discord server. I strongly recommend taking down the vote, extending the contest at least a week, and giving everyone a reminder that it exists.
