Would you suggest "pupils are able to" rather than "pupils do" regarding eye space occupation?

How specific would you like the The description of the interstitial mucus?

"Pupils are able to" should provide the sufficient clarity.
The oddity about the excessive (by what standard?) wrinkles is that it relates directly to a mucus environment and its poison. I don't recall any poisonous animals that have extensive wrinkling specifically as a poison storage mechanism.

The standard would be the minimum amount necessary to lubricate a skin equal to the surface area of the inner Wraith, beyond that volume would be in excess.
examples of animal with excess would be breeds of wrinkly dog, and naked mole rats. Though these are quite mucus filled as opposed to thin from my understanding as they hold certain compounds in large quantities. It is my understanding that the compound in naked mole rats are being studied for anticancer properties? Maybe something else.

I was intending on making an image of a pair sparring, but never got around to it, so I think I'm done with this description.
