I kinda want to make another Chromanke descendant before it gets replace, to increase diversity and all, but I'm not quite sure where to go with it. Any suggestions or ideas?

Could have one that either has spikes, vaguely resembles crystal flora, or even absurd colors.

Heck, could even design one that looks like Kermit the Frog

I like the hunting strategy these use. Utilizing the tail like a lure is such a clever idea, though should something prove a bit too aggressive when it comes to taking the bait, is this capable of regenerating any damage the tail might take?

The Chromanke is notable for its almost certainly full-body color-changing ability, and can take on at least four colors: green, white, brown, and black.

Drake Taiga, which borders one of its habitats, collectively has flora are cyan, red, green, dull yellow (Pandocrystlal and Frigid Vesuvianite trunks), purple-with-orange (Xidhorchia) and three kinds of purple. You could make something that can at least passably blend in with most or even all of those flora, or perhaps make one species with multiple specialized sub-populations adapted to different colors and lifestyles, though their actual diets would be very similar.

Since Chromankes don't need necks anyway, you could make a descendant neck-less and more froglike. You could make things based on skinks or amphiumas. You could make some kind of bizarre duck-frog-chameleon that walks on its forelegs and uses its hind legs to carry foam nests.

You would have to get it done this gen. Chromanke dies on week boundary.

Huh, my reply vanished and got copied.

Well here is the artwork of the other species im working on, plus im already working on its description. So if you guys want to make one you should probably hurry as this species will be replacing the Chromanke.

Hmmm, thats a good point, would a regenerative tail be easy to develop for the species?

That brings to question what causes regeneration and what prevents it.

Do these scar?

Your reply (or what I can only assume is your reply) somehow became part of my post. I have no idea why that is possible. Anyway.

I now have several ideas for Chromanke species I could make. I could make a smaller one specialized to feed on smaller 'invertebrates' that also has articulable spines that it can use to make itself look bigger to scare predators (including possibly its ancestor). I also like Coolsteph's idea of one with more color-changing capabilities that lives in the neighboring Taiga. Also, one with a dewlap or some other sexual display tactic would be interesting too.

How similar is it to its ancestor? Realised I could probably make descendants from that one too. Why does it replace?

Sounds like that one replaces the ancestor because it's offspring do better in it's given environment.

In it's description it says the adults are basically the same, so whatever you wanna make
If the significant part is the adult,
Then out would still work.
