The thorns wearing down herbivores' teeth wasn't a novel trait, and it doesn't require significant quantities of iron. I based this on real plant defenses against herbivores, like phytoliths in leaves.

The simplest, most practical route to achieving your goal is starting from scratch with this submission and going in plausible, small steps.

I said this before on the discord, but i'll say it on here as well. I think the Moleroot would likely work better as a descendant of the Pionferruses with some retooling, since your wanting to have this species be mostly underground and be reinforced with iron.

Sudden wild changes to your submissions don't sit right with me. This was previously passable with ultimately only minor issues but then you suddenly completely changed parts of it and it's causing problems and basically reset the review process. I suggest that if you anticipate making heavy changes to a submission, you should post it in the work-in-progress thread instead.

Note, once a submission is already approved, this degree of editing will no longer be allowed. You seem to like changing large parts of your submissions sometimes to the point of being unrecognizable, so I thought you should probably know.

People asked that I make changes

Should I not make the changes?

Changes shouldn't be so massive they turn it into a different submission.

Changed it back to be more like the original post per suggestions

That was not necessary. What I took issue with was changing the core of the submission by adding the iron features and redesigning the artwork when the changes would have made more sense in a descendant for next gen.

Please listen to and implement feedback, and do not be passive-aggressive about it. If you do not undo this unnecessary total reversion, this will have to be rejected.

Woah, what happened to cause the change to this? This is lacking in detail and really requires a more detailed description on what has changed from its ancestor. The iron respiration will require details on why it evolved, how it works plus any other changes that occurred to its lifestyle as a consequence of these traits

There seemed to be quite a lot of push concerning iron respiration. I tried to find a way to make it work with iron microbes, but that just complicated things. The iron respiration just didn’t seem like it was going to work at all.

So I eventually made the decision to just not have iron respiration but have the iron just be a part of its diet, which is a bit easier to handle.

Other than that, not much of the original post wound up changing much. Slowed the plant down a bit. Instead of quickly moving, sending out a shoot every so often, it’d move slower and only send a shoot to release spores.

I don't think organisms can really use iron as a source of food. Some organisms "breathe" with it, instead of oxygen. You can always say that it requires a fairly high volume of iron in its soil to thrive due to its specific mineral needs. Some plants, such as rice, benefit greatly from having sufficient silicon, so having unusual nutritional needs isn't that odd.

I think the problem is that in the project we've listed lithotrophy in diet, which confuses things.

There's a new rule to help with this

Is the size colony length or organism height?

individual length

It should say whether it's length or height.
