I am not an expert, but

I can say with confidence this is a rat.

A little cricher perhaps even.

Though honestly in a way it reminds me of a guinea pig almost? Mostly in the fact it seems they birth large and well developed young kind of like how guinea pigs (and I’m pretty sure most closely related caviomorphs in general) just plop out a single furry baby with open eyes and everything unlike other rodents.

I was thinking this seems more like a rabbit niche

Well. That is indeed a 'creature". Were it not for the butt-nostril and green ears, it's hard to tell from this portrayal that it's even a plent, which attests to how much plents have changed. For the particular population shown in the image, is the pale coloration on the backs of the thighs and under its tail purely an indication of pale coloration in those areas, or on its underside in general?

"though it is not impartial to"
This seems an overly convoluted phrasing, such as saying "not dissimilar to" instead of "similar to" or "somewhat similar to". "Though it will not pass up" or "Though it will occasionally eat" are better.

The pose and pelage are interesting.

It's supposed to have a light underbelly, yes. I didn't realize until I was coloring that it wouldn't be very visible in this pose.

It's a little hard to discern the coloration. Does the back have a broad sort of darkish stripe on it or is that a result of random gradient and/or shading?

Would this thing even need to kill its smaller predators? I'd think producing enough to just scare away or stun the predator would be optimal in terms of energy efficiency and would minimize potential self-harm.

It's a vague dark upperside. Lots of animals have that.

It needs enough zap to be able to deter the big predators.

Meaning, and now that I think about it this makes sense, it can't really control how much it discharges at a time, instead only being able to use the option tuned to its larger predators?

I don't think it can control it, no.

How does it manage its gastrolith supply when it has a blind gut? Are its gastroliths ejected when it ejects its solid wastes? Does it reingest the gastroliths? Does it need to regularly hunt for grit or tiny pebbles because any material it uses won't last for very long anyway, due to ejection?

It seems these lie within the typical length range for a domestic chicken. It seems the typical size of small stones given to chickens as gizzard stones is 2 mm to 8 mm. (The typical size for these small stones and pieces of grit is between 2mm and 8mm. (https://cluckin.net/the-complete-guide-to-feeding-grit-and-oyster-shell-to-chickens-with-faq.html) I think most people who know the word "gastrolith" know it from dinosaur knowledge, and so might be expecting larger mineral chunks. Unless its stomach/gizzard is bigger than that of a chicken, it would surely use grit and small pebbles within its gizzard.

Gastroliths should be held in place, not floating free. My head hurts too much right now to try editing, I'll do it tomorrow.

Yeah, at first I couldn't tell if it was a sauceback or a plent
