The exoskeletal toes reminded me of the hexapod rocker of yore.

I like the advancement in the waste sac, I think that gives it a great advantage for being active in hot dry environments over other plents.

"However, it still digs using its beak. Like its ancestor, its skeleton[...]" This sentence sounds breathless, and should be split.
I like the lighting and pelage detail.

I see it eats Robust Arid Ferine berries. Robust Arid Ferines have been around for so long, have become such an important part of the ecosystem, and have yielded multiple descendants. If there's ever a "mascot list" for Sagan 4, I recommend including the Robust Arid Ferine as one, or at least making it a default illustration for its genus. (It seems the taxonomy of purpleflora hasn't been as thoroughly covered as for fauna, and that's probably a very low priority, though.)

I replaced one comma with a semicolon

Actually the purple flora's higher taxonomy is being discussed quite heavily as of late. You can see the results with the humms, the poison flora, and the extinct blue palms.

The mouse gryphler’s internal excretion sac reabsorbs some of the water from its liquid waste, making it more concentrated and almost paste-like. This allows it to more easily thrive in dry environments. Like other plents, it has a blind gut and must regurgitate all waste. It has ceased excreting liquid waste from its skin at all and has instead repurposed the excretion glands to produce oil, which protects and strengthens its trichomes. Like its ancestor, it can dig shallow burrows using its beak to store seeds and crystals to feed on out of season.

I'm not quite sure what's going on here as the two statements seem to contradict with one another. Does the mouse gryphler urinate paste or does it not?

The excretion sac is internal. The skin is external. It's referring to separate organs.

Should Wallace Desert be called Wallace Temperate Desert?

Opinion: Approved

You are supposed to list the changes of each type under each type

It is possible this would eat Ferries' berries as well. Would you like to add Ferries' berries to its diet and wait until Ferries are approved? Although I have been going somewhat out of order in checking over organisms, I expect to go over Ferries in a few hours.

Species cannot have stuff in species submitted later in their diets.
