They don't feed on mucus like Xenobees can, do they?

All of them seem furry. Is more consistent furriness another difference between them and Xenobees?

Xenobees are a genus that was formed after the fact, grouping existing species together rather than spawning a new genus regardless of their diets and anatomy which would have realistically put them in different genera. There is no single species of xenobee which eats both nectar and mucus as far as I am aware. These split from a furry, nectar-eating xenobee, probably similar to the woolly xenobee.

I can see where confusion can come from on that and I must say, sadly, Alpha genera largely kinda suck and really should have been approached more like Beta's instead of...whatever is going on with xenobees, miniswarmers, and countless others. Some genera are even polyphyletic and it's almost painful to look at. This is exactly why I was so violently against grouping existing species into genus groups after the fact when we were still trying to figure them out in Beta, and I can finally see why Buff hated genera so much.

I like this, and I agree Disgustedorite. A lot of our current genera are far too broad, and "specialized" ones like this definitely help to flesh out the ecosystems of Sagan IV. Also, I noticed what you mentioned elsewhere, but I don't see any reason why a genus can't go extinct. Massive ecological disasters could do it, albeit rarely.
