So what do i need to fix on this one?

I think at the very least this lineage is recognized to have some form of respiratory system that spans the length of the body,

I often suggest a basal poriferean system beneath the exoskeletal layer, a spongy porous and vascular tissue layer for absorbing oxygen. This can easily and rapidly be specialized into lungs, microlungs, tracheal systems, and other shapes of organs just from enlarging sacs or tubes in this tissue layer and then silencing the rest of it.

You could say that the spiracles are enlarged pores related to their respiratory system and lead to pockets or sacs beneath the exoskeleton meant for hold air so it can make noise.

I thought we were elaborating ancestral microlungs.

Either way, the spiracles are fine but the specifics should be vague.

I don't necessarily mean that this lineage has a porifereal system, just that if the most basal worms had one it would allow for all the different ways people had wanted their lineages to breath.

New Genus Needed?: (If yes, list why) Y; it’s not a “worm-shaped roach” (the meaning of its ancestor’s genus name) and its spiracles/drastically modified spiracles seem significant enough to justify a new genus.

Opinion: Pending: Respiration and support could be delayed, but it’s surely an ectotherm. It’s small, so this is likely. It has no pelage, and I don’t think its ancestors have ever had pelage. Most compellingly, it and its ancestors seem to have made to fit the niche of roach-like bugs.

I think the consensus is that worms have live tissue exoskeletons and don't molt

I figure they could still molt in the same way a snake molts, which would similarly justify finding a sheltered spot.

Its increase in size also means that the old way of absorbing oxygen directly through the skin no longer worked well enough. Instead, the beastworm has evolved numerous, tiny "microlungs," located all over its skin, which allow it to breathe much more effectively

Sweet so it would be directly related to these micro lungs, you could totally have a set of them specialized for making hissing sounds. That's super simple.

I too compare any of the worms that molt to reptiles shedding their scutes, it makes sense. It's not necessarily going to affect their ability to stand, but it will definitely make them more susceptible to attacks.

So does that mean the pending things in that review are basically optional elaborations?

I believe so
