Those are some short wings...it must be smaller than it looks under that plumage to still be good at flight, especially rapid flight. (Robins are 23 cm long, too, judging by some brief research, but they've got twig-legs and tail feathers)

"its jaws are string" I sure hope you meant "strong", because otherwise it wouldn't be able to eat.

It's interesting that the alpha timeline's equivalent of a Little Brown Bird is a fluffy pterosaur-raptor.

The wings are folded, and I purposefully depicted it with more plumage than the ancestor had for the sake of streamlining. That may have been a mistake as far as depicting wing size goes and I will have to take it into account for later species art.

Now I'm curious if newly hatched baby snappers look like the Kingosnapper, just with more fuzz and disproportionately larger (though closed) eyes.
