oh no i didn't know sparkleshrog was its actual name. and it references furries in the description efgugfegdukdguhkuavdebkgdieubei
I don't have any criticisms for the actual species, but I do wonder: could a large, herbivorous, eyeless sauce back potentially bypass this creature's hunting strategy? I know they have echolocation, and they may have keen enough hearing and smell to detect the hidden shrog. I'm not sure if any sauces have heat pits or something, but that could also easily give away the sparkleshrog's position.
The ability to make preserved 'shrew jerky' seems like it may cause this species to become quite abundant and successful. Storing food is probably a very successful strategy, and combined with the high birth rate and low-energy hunting method the sparkelshrog may become the dominant predator of the driftwood islands. I'm not entirely sure about that though, that's just my speculation about their lifestyle.
