Wow, more needlewing descendants! You have a lot of ideas! Nice! That is high praise by the way, not a criticism or passive aggressive thing, I love it when things get lots of descendants. Perhaps I have too much interest in 'horizontal' diversification to even be tenable, atleast for this project, but anyway, enough about me. How many descendants of these bois are you doing?

On an unrelated note, Colddigger, there are a lot of smaller animal/"invertebrate" and marine life lineages that need some love too, lots of unfilled niches. I know you're good at speciating things, so I just wanted to direct your attention to that aspect of things as a result of your aptitude in that area, not disapproving of these descendants. On the contrary! I love them! I wish I could do the same, but my grasp on science and ecology, biology etc. leaves something to be desired.

This project uses "global genus groups" for a lot of the more foundation roles in the ecosystems like insects and small fish and worms.

I agree it needs more of these foundation groups, especially in the Flora.

I've also wondered if they could be categorized based on their roles in the ecosystem.

At what point will people make virtually zero small bugs, herbaceous plants and grasses, though? If Kruggs, as a whole, were a genus meant to imitate super-large bugs like goliath beetles, would the Swimming, Tonsa, and Catch-Me Kruggs be worthwhile to create? The "bug" diversity would be implicit. Certainly, people can split from genus groups, but the overall named diversity would likely be lower. Would people bother to give new submissions diets adapted to specific habitats, and give them some sense of place and make them clearly part of the local ecology, or just make them generic, all-genus eaters, like generic "insectivores" that eat Vermees and Neuks and Minikruggs? There needs to be some limit.

Genus groups should not encompass that much. It is unrealistic for them to do so. I suggest referencing my guide to making realistic genus groups for a good idea of what genera should be like--in short, they should only encompass a single niche in a large number of environments, more like a single species entry.

Are people making little bugs and annual or biennial Flora to the degree necessary for a real ecosystem anyway?

I think having genus groups is good compared to what was
before.

I'll make some more.

I do agree that they shouldn't be a stand in for real regional things, hermit crab genus vs coconut crab.

Eh.

I love how bizarre the feet are (knuckle-toes?), as well as how the overall design somewhat reminds me of one of those novelty drinking birds.

The only error I see is a minor one, and that is that you've forgotten to put a space between paragraphs three and four.

I'm actually working on a few of these...
